Institutional Identity

Bishop Morrow School, Krishnagar, is established and administered by the Registered Society of the Kolkata Province of the Catechist Sisters of Mary Immaculate Help of Christians.

Recognition & Affiliation

The institution is a Catholic Minority School, recognised by the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions, Government of India (vide F.No. 321 of 2006-1043, dated 09.08.2006), and the Department of Education, Government of West Bengal.

The school is affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi (School Code: WB242), for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE - Class X) and the Indian School Certificate (ISC - Class XII) examinations.

Accuracy of Documentation

All admission forms must be completed with total accuracy and truthfulness. Please note that no changes or amendments are permitted once the form has been submitted to the school office.

The Principal serves as the sole authority regarding the admission process. Internal or external parties possess no role or influence in this procedure.

Donation Policy

Bishop Morrow School does not solicit or accept any form of donation. Parents are strongly advised against engaging with any third-party intermediaries claiming to facilitate the admission process.

Integrity Policy

The use of recommendations, external influence, or unethical methods to secure a seat is strictly prohibited. Engaging in such practices may lead to the immediate cancellation of a student's enrollment.

Right to Amend Rules

The school management reserves the right to amend, modify, or add to the existing rules and regulations at any time, as deemed necessary for the betterment of the institution. Such changes will be communicated via the school diary or official notice board.

Change of Contact Details

It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to notify the school office immediately in writing regarding any changes to their residential address, telephone number, or email address to ensure effective communication.

Right of Withdrawal

The school management reserves the right to request the withdrawal of any student whose progress or conduct is deemed unsatisfactory or detrimental to the general interest of the school.

Medium of Communication

To ensure transparency and authenticity, all formal communication between parents and the school must be conducted through the official school diary or the designated institutional email address.

Document Verification

At the time of admission, the submission of original birth certificates, transfer certificates, and other necessary legal documents is mandatory for verification. Failure to provide authentic documentation will lead to the rejection of the application.

Age Criteria

For admission to LKG, the child must meet the age requirement as specified by the school management and government regulations for the current academic year.

Right of Admission

The school management reserves the right to accept or reject any application without assigning any reason. The Principal's decision regarding the admission process shall be final and binding.

Medical Fitness

Parents/guardians are required to disclose any significant medical history or special needs of the child at the time of admission to ensure the school can provide appropriate support.

Admission Eligibility & Selection Criteria

This section outlines the requirements and processes for seeking admission to Bishop Morrow School. Please ensure all criteria are reviewed carefully prior to applying.

General Admissions (Nursery to Class VII)

Entrance Testing: Candidates seeking admission from LKG to Class VII are required to undergo an entrance assessment.
Assessment Scope: Students are evaluated on the syllabus corresponding to the standard immediately below the level for which they are applying.
Performance Requirements: Admission is subject to seat availability and academic performance, requiring a minimum score of 50% in both English and Mathematics.
Educational Background: Applicants must provide evidence of having previously studied in an English-medium school.

Class-Specific Regulations

Primary Promotion: Promotion from UKG to Class I is not guaranteed and is subject to institutional review.
Class V Entry: Admission to Class V from Class IV is determined strictly by the candidate's academic performance, regularity in attendance, and disciplinary record.
Gender Restrictions: The school does not admit male students from Class VIII onwards.

ISC Admission (Classes XI & XII)

Course Structure: The ISC program is considered a separate and distinct course of study.
Eligibility: Admission is restricted to students who have successfully completed their ICSE curriculum at Bishop Morrow School.
Selection Process: Final selection is based on a formal application, a personal interview with the candidate and their parents, and a review of the student's past conduct record.

Transfer & Application Procedures

Transfer Requests: Parents seeking a transfer must submit a formal written application, which must be accompanied by the child's most recent progress report.

Mandatory Documentation

Admission to Bishop Morrow School is contingent upon the submission of a complete and accurate set of documentation via the school’s online portal. Please note that a student cannot be admitted without a valid Transfer Certificate (TC) from their previous institution.

Required Documents Checklist:

Application Essentials
  • Application Form: Duly filled and signed, accompanied by a recent passport-size photograph.
  • Transfer Certificate: The original Transfer Certificate from the previous institution, including the Transfer Certificate from the Bengali Portal.
Identity & Proof of Birth
  • Birth Proof: Photocopies of both the hospital discharge/nursing home card and the official Birth Registration Certificate.
  • Parent Identity: Valid copies of the PAN Card, Passport, or Matriculation Certificate for both parents.
Residential & Financial Proof
  • Residency & Income: Self-attested proof of residential address and official proof of income for both parents.
Health & Medical Records
  • Immunization: Complete records including, at minimum, Hepatitis A and B vaccinations.
  • Fitness: An original blood group certificate and a current physical fitness certificate.
Community Certificates
  • Christian Candidates: An original Baptism Certificate is required.
  • Reserved Categories: Valid SC/ST/OBC documentation issued in the candidate's name.
